The College of Dentistry at the University of Tikrit welcomed an official delegation from the University Presidency in a visit aimed at monitoring the fulfillment of institutional accreditation requirements and reviewing the implementation of academic and administrative quality standards within the college.

The delegation was received by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Raheel Ali, Dean of the College, accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Shaimaa Issa Ahmed, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs; Assistant Professor Dr. Ghazwan Mahdi Saleh, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs; and Lecturer Asmaa Noori Hameed, Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division.

During the visit, the committee reviewed the progress made in institutional documentation, performance evaluation, and the implementation of quality requirements across all academic and administrative departments. The visit also included an assessment of the developmental plans being pursued by the college to meet the national accreditation standards.

The committee commended the efforts of the college’s administration and staff for their continuous dedication to applying the highest academic and administrative standards, thereby contributing to enhancing institutional performance and achieving excellence in dental education.

Today, the College of Dentistry at the University of Tikrit welcomed the Laboratory Evaluation Committee as part of its field visits to assess the status of scientific laboratories across the university’s colleges, in accordance with the Guideline for Iraqi Laboratory Quality Standards issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in 2022.

This visit was conducted according to the pre-approved schedule, during which the committee evaluated the college’s laboratories and reviewed their compliance with the adopted standards, based on the official assessment form provided in the guideline. The evaluation focused on performance quality, infrastructure, and the services offered within the laboratories.

The College’s administration, represented by Dean Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Raheel Ali, affirmed its full cooperation with the committee and its commitment to providing all necessary requirements that reflect the true level of the laboratories, in line with accreditation and academic quality standards.

This visit comes within the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of the educational and research environment and ensure its alignment with rigorous national standards in higher education institutions.

The President of the University of Tikrit, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, received in his office the team of the National University Ranking Awareness Campaign, organized by the Quality Assurance and University Performance Divisions at the College of Dentistry. The initiative comes as part of ongoing efforts to promote the culture of academic evaluation and raise awareness of its importance among the university’s staff.

The campaign included the distribution of informative brochures highlighting the criteria of the national ranking system and its impact on improving institutional performance and enhancing the educational environment. These brochures were distributed to various departments within the university presidency and several colleges.

The University President praised this constructive initiative, commending the efforts of the Quality Assurance and University Performance team and the positive message their work conveys in fostering academic belonging. He emphasized that such initiatives encourage university staff to uphold quality standards, thereby contributing to elevating the university’s standing and reinforcing its distinguished reputation.

As part of the postgraduate study requirements, the Department of Operative Dentistry at the College of Dentistry, University of Tikrit, organized a seminar focusing on the discussion of specialized research papers in the field of dental restoration.

The seminar was attended by Professor Dr. Huda Abbas, Head of the Department of Operative Dentistry, where an extensive scientific discussion was held on the presented topics. Observations and recommendations were also provided to enhance the quality of the research, in line with the requirements of advanced academic degrees, in support of the university’s scientific mission.
