College of Dentistry at the University of Tikrit Hosts Workshop on Institutional Accreditation

The College of Dentistry at the University of Tikrit hosted today a scientific workshop that addressed the importance of institutional accreditation and guided the university’s academic departments toward fulfilling its specific requirements. The event comes as part of the university’s efforts to promote quality and advance academic and administrative performance.

The workshop was delivered by:

  • Prof. Dr. Arkan Bur'an Mohammed – Head of the Quality Assurance Department,
  • Prof. Kifah Abbas Mohimeed,
  • Lecturer Asst. Inst. Mahmoud Fawzi Hameed.

The workshop targeted the heads of all academic departments across the university and was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Raheel Ali, Dean of the College of Dentistry, along with a number of university leaders, department heads, and a select group of the college’s staff and employees.

The workshop focused on the significance of institutional accreditation as a cornerstone for ensuring the quality of higher education, and on the necessity for academic departments to complete accreditation requirements in alignment with national and international quality and accreditation standards.

At the conclusion of the workshop, participants stressed the importance of joint efforts and coordination between departments and specialized committees to achieve the university’s goals in meeting quality standards and attaining academic excellence. The workshop also resulted in several recommendations, most notably the development of a phased action plan and the formation of follow-up committees in the colleges to monitor the effective and systematic implementation of institutional accreditation requirements.

Participation of the Deanery, Faculty Members, and Students of the College of Dentistry in the Central Celebration of the Iraqi National Day at the University of Tikrit

The College of Dentistry at the University of Tikrit, represented by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Raheel Ali, Dean of the College, along with a group of faculty members and students from various academic stages, participated in the central celebration held by the University of Tikrit on the occasion of the Iraqi National Day. The event was sponsored by Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, President of the University, under the slogan “The National Day: Identity and Belonging”, and took place in Al-Khwarizmi Hall at the University Presidency.

The celebration witnessed wide attendance from the University President’s assistants, deans of the colleges, university staff, students, as well as a number of academic figures.

The ceremony commenced with a blessed recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by the playing of the Iraqi national anthem and the anthem of the University of Tikrit. The University President then delivered a speech on the occasion, in which he expressed his pride in this national commemoration, emphasizing the University’s role in instilling the values of good citizenship and building an aware generation that contributes to the renaissance and progress of Iraq.

The program also featured a visual presentation titled “The Nation Through the Eyes of the University of Tikrit”, which reflected the meanings of belonging and pride in national identity. This was followed by the recitation of a patriotic poem by the popular poet Hamad Al-Sabhan, which was well received by the audience.

The celebration concluded with a symbolic march during which the participants raised the Iraqi flags and chanted national songs, in an atmosphere that embodied the spirit of pride and belonging to the beloved homeland.

The participation of the deanery, faculty members, and students of the College of Dentistry in this cherished national occasion reaffirms their pride in the Iraqi identity and their keenness to actively contribute to university activities that strengthen the values of belonging and national unity.

Dean of the College of Dentistry Meets Newly Admitted Postgraduate Students for the Academic Year 2025–2026

 

The Dean of the College of Dentistry at Tikrit University, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Raheel Ali, met with the newly admitted postgraduate students for the academic year 2025–2026, as part of the college’s commitment to supporting the academic journey and strengthening communication with its students.

During the meeting, the Dean welcomed the new students, emphasizing the importance of adhering to university regulations and demonstrating seriousness in academic and research pursuits. He highlighted that postgraduate studies represent a fundamental pillar in providing society with advanced scientific and medical competencies.

The Dean also listened to the students’ interventions and inquiries, directing the need to provide an appropriate academic environment that fosters the development of their research and scientific skills, in line with Tikrit University’s vision of serving society and advancing the higher education sector.

National Authority Conducts Routine Radiation Survey at the Educational Clinics of the College of Dentistry – Tikrit University

 

The Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs at the College of Dentistry, Assistant Professor Dr. Ghazwan Mahdi Saleh, received a technical team from the branch of the National Authority for Nuclear, Radiological, Chemical, and Biological Monitoring during their inspection visit to the educational clinics of the College of Dentistry / Tikrit University, specifically to the X-ray rooms, with the aim of verifying compliance with radiation safety regulations.

The team confirmed that the on-site inspection included conducting a routine radiation survey, the results of which indicated that all readings were within the permissible limits for personnel. The team also provided several recommendations to the staff to ensure their safety and the safety of patients, emphasizing the importance of continuous adherence to the National Authority’s guidelines on radiation protection.

With the dawn of a new academic year, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to your college, where we gather on the paths of knowledge and learning to march together toward a bright future worthy of you and of our beloved homeland.

Since its establishment, the College of Dentistry has carried a noble mission: to prepare a generation of physicians who are academically and professionally qualified, equipped with values and ethics that ensure the practice of the profession with integrity and humanity. Year after year, we continue to uphold this mission, striving to remain beacons of science, research, and community service.

Dear students, you are the beating heart of this college, and upon you rest the hopes of tomorrow. I urge you to make your years of study an opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills, to embrace perseverance and discipline, and to fully sense the responsibility of the noble profession you have chosen—a profession of compassion and giving.

My fellow faculty members, your sincere efforts in teaching, research, and community service are the essential pillars upon which the success of our college is built. I am confident that you will continue this dedication with utmost devotion and commitment.
